Sesame Seed Crackers
We sifted 250g of plain flour
into a bowl and added 1tsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp salt and
1tsp ground black pepper.
We measured out 60g of cold butter and cut it into cubes. We
then worked this into our mixture until it was like breadcrumbs.
We made a well in the middle and added 100ml of ice cold water,
mixing it in with a knife. When it was starting to come together.
We worked it into a firm dough by hand, separated into 2 balls,
then mixed in 1tbsp black sesame seeds into one ball.
To the other we added 1tbsp white sesame seeds and worked them
into the dough thoroughly.
We rolled the dough out between 2 sheets of baking paper. To
get it very thin (between 1mm and 2mm) we worked it through our
pasta machine.
We then cut out disc shapes and layered them on baking trays
with greaseproof paper and let them chill in the fridge for 20
mins.
We then baked them in the oven at 180°C for 10-15mins.
