Quorn Cannelloni
Now we have a good recipe for fresh pasta and a PASTA MACHINE!!
We decided to try using sheets of fresh pasta for cannelloni.
Our base for the filling was Quorn mince with a tin of tomatoes,
some onions, garlic and chilli, cooked together in a pan.
We made our own bechemel sauce by warming milk infused with half
an onion pierced with a couple of cloves and a bay leaf. We made
a roux with butter and flour mixed together over a low heat until
smooth, before slowly adding the milk and some white pepper to
taste.
We boiled our fresh sheets of pasta for a couple of minutes in
salted water before draining and lightly coating them in olive
oil. We then spooned some filling onto each sheet and rolled them
into tubes and placed them in an oven proof dish.
We then poured over the bechemel sauce and topped it with some
grated cheddar cheese before baking it in the oven for 30-40 minutes.
